

Another drawer lets you send keystrokes to the focused element of the target application. Open UI Browser's drawers to get and set the selected element's attributes, perform actions on the selected element, and observe notifications when the selected element changes. UI Browser can even follow focus while you use the target application and highlight the selected element on the screen. Even easier, press a hot key while holding the mouse over any of an application's UI elements on the screen, or switch to UI Browser's built-in Screen Reader and select the UI element under the mouse. Open its Target menu to choose an application, and select any of the User Interface elements in its main window. It enables you to navigate the Accessibility hierarchy and generate useful GUI Scripting statements with a single click. UI Browser understands the arrangement of an application's UI elements and knows their AppleScript names and index numbers. If you are writing AppleScript scripts to manage an existing macOS application, use UI Browser to help script the user interface using GUI Scripting even if the target application does not support AppleScript. If you are developing a macOS application, use UI Browser to help design its Accessibility features and test their conformance to Apple's Accessibility requirements. To run UI Browser 3 natively on an Apple silicon Mac, you must use a UI Browser 2 Paddle key issued after June 30, 2019, or purchase a new Paddle key.

UI Browser has been a labor of love for me, its sole developer for almost twenty years. Thereafter, it will no longer be possible to download or purchase UI Browser, and product support will no longer be available. On the end-of-life retirement date, the PFiddlesoft website will be closed. The current release of UI Browser, version 3.0.2, will not be updated. UI Browser End of Life: UI Browser will reach its end of life and be retired on October 17, 2022.
